If you want to change your life, eat healthier and be happier, it’s helpful to establish a healthy morning routine.

The morning sets the tone for your entire day. If you wake up late, tired, groggy, rush out of the house without breakfast, are hurrying to get to work, chances are you’re going to have kind of a shitty day.

The start to your day should be relaxing, chill and happy. Not rushed, grouchy and stressed. Here is a great morning routine to get into.

Kombucha and/or Lemon Water

I start every morning with either kombucha or lemon water. Kombucha is a fermented tea; it’s full of enzymes as well as probiotics. It tastes AMAZING.

You can buy kombucha here, or make your own using this kit.

But I don’t always have it so I usually drink water with half a lemon squeezed in. Lemon water:

  • cleanses the body of toxins
  • stimulates bile production
  • contains vitamin C
  • boosts the immune system
  • helps clear skin

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite isn’t for everyone, but it is something that I need to take. I grew up eating A LOT of toxins so I make sure to take BC regularly. Bentonite clay is negatively charged, so it binds to positively charged ions and flushes them out of your system.

This means that bentonite clay binds to harmful bacteria, fungus, yeast, parasite, pathogens, viruses, etc. and flushes them out of your system. You have to be careful though, as it can cause constipation.

Green & Dandelion Root Tea

I love me some tea. When I work out of the house, I take it with me in a bottle, which is especially awesome with this whole polar vortex thing happening. Otherwise, I’ll let it sit for a while, and sip on it after my lemon water is long gone.

Green tea is super healthy and has a lot of antioxidants, I like this brand.

Dandeliot root is amazing. It has been used to treat viral infections, cancer, and kidney stones. Dandelion is great for the liver, it helps remove and flush out toxins. Therefore, it’s also great for the skin.

I like this brand of dandelion root tea.

Probiotic

I take my probiotic every morning on an empty stomach. It’s best to take a probiotic on an empty stomach, as long as it’s a good probiotic. No one wants to be taking crappy probiotics anyway; there are so many on the market that are not at all effective.

Affirmations & Intentions

I have a set of affirmations I read every morning (and several times throughout the day). At first I kind of thought affirmations and intentions were bullshit, but they really are great. It helps to verbalize and focus on what you want out of life.

If I woke up every morning and thought, “Great, today I have 17 million things to do on the site, answer over 20 emails, write for the ebook, go grocery shopping…” my day would kind of suck. I’d psych myself out before I even got started. So I say happy things to myself, mentally prepare for what I need to get done, and get that shit done!

And as always, get a good night of sleep!
