I’ve talked about my troubled skin and how I cleared my acne here. And when I say acne, I don’t mean a few zits every once in a while. I mean deep, painful, cystic acne. We’re talking blackheads and huge pores that ooze oil. I mean the gross stuff that people don’t like to talk about and acne commercials don’t like to show.

It was bad.

And while I used to spend a ton of money on cleansers, toners and creams, not I mostly just use homemade products from my kitchen. Because it’s so much cheaper and so much more effective! You really do not need to spend a ton of money on products for your skin. I assure you that what you put in your mouth will affect your skin more than any magical cream ever could.

Making your own skin care products isn’t only cheaper, it’s healthier too. Most products are loaded with parabens, chemicals, fragrances and toxins, definitely not what you want to put on your face. This toner is just two simple ingredients mixed with water and works better than any other toner I’ve ever used.

It balanced the pH of my skin, tightens pores, removes makeup and controls oil. I love it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 part apple cider vinegar (I ONLY use THIS brand)
  • 3 parts water
  • 20 drops of melaleuca aka tea tree oil (it is important to use THIS brand of essential oils, I’ve used tea tree before and it barely did anything – this kills bacteria, controls breakouts, cleans and tightens pores)

Just combine all ingredients and keep in a mason jar. Easy! Cheap! Awesome!
